NETWORK REBRAND
Heading into 2018, Alhurra TV, the 24-hour news station, was ready to make some major changes and set out to rebuild and relaunch the media company which broadcasts via satellite to 22 Arabic-speaking countries. This was not just a fancy new look but a complete, ground-up overhaul including programming, studio design, scheduling, branding, on-air talent and more.
Charlie Co worked closely with the team at Middle East Broadcasting Network to develop their new brand identity along with systems and strategies for navigational components, promotions, digital content and live insert graphics as well as packaging for their flagship news programs and a variety of other current affair shows.
Along with these major brand components, Charlie Co enlisted Massive Music to help create a signature audio brand for the network.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Arabic calligraphy is an art form which allows a good amount of freedom of shape and configurations of the letterforms. After a thorough exploration process, we arrived at an all new logo which is a clean, strong and contemporary evolution of the original. During this process we decided to set the bird mark free and incorporate our storyline brand element as main underscore to the logo.

Our design system was strategically implemented across every touchpoint including: ON-AIR PROMOTIONAL TOOLKITS, NAVIGATIONAL COMPONENTS, NEWS PACKAGING, LIVE GRAPHIC INSERT SYSTEM, STUDIO SETS AND DIGITAL to consistently reinforce brand awareness.
FLAGSHIP NEWS DESIGN SYSTEM
Derivative of the overall brand, our flagship news package elevated the core design aesthetic, adding a premium sheen and gravitas. The six main news programs, differentiated by time of day, all shared the same design foundation and added subtle enhancements of color and animation for differentiation.
